Well It depends what type of attractions you are looking for.
For example, I look foward to visiting the beaches. The main beaches run along Jumeira Road I believe. The water is from the Arabian Gulf and is really nice and warm. |

There are many places, one thing you have to try out is the Desert, that is also something beautiful, especially since you are coming in the cooler months. If you are looking into doing something more adventureous try www.mountain-extreme.com, another idea to do some crazy things is www.bluebanana.ae of course you must see the Burj from the outside, I personally think the inside is tacky, the Madinat Jumeriah is also a must see attraction, and you should book a treatment at the Six Senses Spa (you will not regret it). The spice souk and the Dubai Museum is a must see with the Heritage Village. Of course you also need to visit some shopping malls, Mall of the Emirates and Burjuman are great, for more decent prices try City Centre and Lamcy Plaza.

You must visit Royal Mirage Hotel and Al Qasr Hotel for a more Arabic experience. Of course not much is "Old" here, but you will still get the "arabic" atmosphere in these places.
I have never gone on the bus tour, but might be a good idea during the cooler months of the year. If you want to visit the older side of Dubai, you should go to the Gold Souk, the Creekside Market and take an "Abra" to the other side. An abra is a small boat that functions as transportation between the 2 sides of Dubai, on the creek. Another nice thing to do is to take a dinner cruise on the creek on one of the Dhows. Usually includes buffet + drinks + entertainment. There is so much to do here....one just has to decide what one wants to see and do.... |

The Big Bus company does two tours, one around the city the other around 'New Dubai'. They're hop-on hop-off. They're worth taking to get your bearings and have a very dgood overview of the places you may want to go back to later. Check them out at http://www.bigbustours.com/dub/html/dub_home.html

i love the tours personally. there are two kinds. you can read everything about each at the dubai information site. overall they are a good intro to dubai....new and old dubai. you can then list some places you want to revisit. good thing is you can hop on and off at anytime.....i always recommend it for a first timer. you also get to meet others in your boat....perhaps coordinate a group activity? or find a special someone for the time you are on the trip?
